Robert Redford, who passed away on September 16, aged 89, was not only an incredible actor and filmmaker, but also a doting grandfather to his seven grandkids, many of whom followed in his creative footsteps. The legendary star passed his legacy onto his grandchildren, sharing with the Salt Lake Tribune in 2018 that the arts nonprofit Sundance Institute, which he founded, would be helmed by them after his death. "I've taken great pains over the years, from the time they were little, to bring them into the fore, letting them go their different ways as they were young and exploring their own paths," he said.
"I've been spending a lot of time bringing my children – Shauna and Amy and Jamie – into the picture, and now they're there and they're in a position to run the show. They're inheriting what I started, and they're going to keep it going with my grandchildren." He is a father of four, although sadly, his sons Scott and James passed away during Robert's lifetime. He was close with his two daughters, Shauna and Amy, and welcomed all four children with his first wife, Lola Van Wagenen. Mica Schlosser
Born Anna Michaela Redford Schlosser in 1991, Mica is an academic who gained her history degree from Middlebury College in Vermont in 2014, and went on to receive her master's from Oxford. She also holds a master's in design from Central St. Martins, and is the eldest daughter of Robert's daughter, Shauna, and her husband, Eric Schlosser.

Mica's younger brother, Conor, was born in 1992 and followed in his grandfather's footsteps after graduating from Colby College in 2015. He now works as a producer at a studio in NYC called RadicalMedia, and also helps with the Sundance Institute.
He shared a touching tribute to the late actor on Instagram after his death, writing: "He was larger than life to the world, but to his family, he was simply that…family. Rest in peace, Grandpa. If anyone has a favorite story of him you'd like to share, please send it to me in a private message – I'd love to collect them."

Robert's eldest grandson, Dylan, is the son of James and Kyle Redford. Born in 1991, Dylan became creative like his family members and studied studio art at Middlebury College in Vermont before graduating in 2015. He was the subject of James' documentary The Big Picture in 2012 about children struggling with dyslexia, which also included celebrities like Richard Branson and Charles Schwab amongst others.
Dylan now works as a filmmaker like his grandfather and sits on the board of The Redford Center, which specializes in environmental impact filmmaking. "In this national moment of change, Dylan will co-lead The Redford Center in transforming the future of impact-driven storytelling as a tool for environmental justice, protection and repair, furthering the vision and legacy of the Redford family," the Center shared in 2020.

Lena is the daughter of James and Kyle, born in 1995. She graduated from Vassar College in 2018 with a degree in media studies and entered the world of filmmaking and acting. She even lent her voice to the short Nature in Speaking alongside her grandfather. Lena posted a touching tribute to the Oscar winner after his death, sharing a series of never-before-seen photos of Robert on Instagram. She captioned it simply with a heart emoji.

Eden is the eldest child of Amy Redford and her ex-husband, Matt August. She was born in 2008, when Amy was beginning to think motherhood wasn't in the cards. "I was 38 when I had my first child, when I was sort of like, 'Oh, [expletive], I forgot to have kids,'" she told Her magazine. "And I managed to have one and was so pleased with the turnout. I was like, 'Well, we did it. Yes, we made a child, she has all her fingers and toes. She's amazing.'"

Amy and Matt also welcomed twin girls in 2010, whose names have not been made public. "I have three girls and my husband and I are seeing the world through their eyes," Amy told the publication. "It has also been my lighthouse."
